Artists often express concern that artificial 'intelligence' is soon going to take away the jobs of many creatives, most notably by generating in seconds what it may take a human days, or even weeks, to create. At this stage, however, it still isn't quite right. Here's a few examples of various AI art I have generated using various models and servers.
"The Rock, paper, scissors" — this is an odd one. His hands look like they need some serious surgery, and the scissors really don't look much like any scissors I've ever seen before. I'll allow the paper aeroplanes as I suppose I didn't technically say the paper couldn't be aerodynamic.
"The Typewriter and the Finger" — again, hands and fingers are an issue. One sees to have been dismembered from its hand, and I always asked for the image to show someone writing on paper NEXT to a typewriter not... whatever this is. The text is also, definitely, not text.
"The Clown Jeep" — This is actually quite a beautiful image. But if that is what Night Cafe's AI thinks a clown looks like, I am glad I was never invited to any of its birthday parties.
"The Many Hands of Image Generation" — hands seems to be a recurring theme. Of this selection of nine images, only one sort-of does it correctly. There's thumbs coming out of palms, six- and -seven-fingered alien species, and whatever is happening in that bottom left one.
"Frankenstein's AI" — there is nothing wrong with this. This is perfect.
"Three Men in a Lunar Garden" — to start, there are definitely not three men. Unless they're standing next to an empty spacesuit or a Doctor-Who-Silence-in-the-Library corpse, then there is one lunar gardener too many. The rest is fairly okay, but this demonstrates how easily AI ignores even the simplest of instructions.
"Broken Glass" — I'm not quite sure why the floor is smashed, too. Other than that, it's a fairly nice image.
"The Word 'Destruction'" — definitely contains no words, nor even any letters. Otherwise a nice image, except that it is absolutely nothing like what I asked for.
"Papillon" — this was while I was trying to create an image for my girlfriend's dad's birthday earlier this year. (My image — no AI used at all — below, versus the best I could get AI to create). I find it really interesting how, despite not creating this particular papillon into a Sith Lord, it does know that 'papillon' is French for 'butterfly' (it's because of their ears). Also, count the feet on the dogs.
A photorealistic image of a man in a dark black hoodie, covering his face with his hand. The background is a living room, but not important as the focus of the image should be the man's hand covering his face. He's covering his face not to be hidden, but almost as if in deep, solemn thought. You can't see his face, but it is still there.
a photorealistic image of a woman showing the back of her hand. She is sat on a sofa, but this is unimportant as the focus of the image is her hand. You can see her socked foot in the background, but a shallow depth of field makes this also important. She is showing the back of her hand with her fingers outstretched.
A mans arms reaching up towards a ceiling. He is in a living room, but this is to very important as the focus of the image should be his arms.
